How to Win the 3-Day Advance Reservation System at the Osaka Expo 2025

This is Mizuno from TIMEWELL.

Reservations for popular pavilions at the 2025 Osaka Expo are highly competitive. Getting into the pavilions that matter requires a deliberate strategy — not luck. This guide is based on four successful reservation attempts, and covers the specific techniques that made the difference.

How the 3-Day Advance Reservation System Works

Basic Rules

  • Opening time: Midnight (12:00 AM), exactly three days before your visit date
  • Method: First-come, first-served

In a first-come system, access in the first seconds after opening determines outcome. Everything in this guide is built around that reality.

The Core Techniques

1. Multiple Devices, Simultaneous Access

Use every device available — smartphone, laptop, tablet — to access the reservation system at the same time. Each device is an independent attempt. More attempts in the first window means higher probability of success.

Prepare all devices before 11:59 PM: logged in, on the correct reservation page, ready to act.

2. Precision Timing: Start at 11:59:57 PM

The sequence:

  1. At 11:59:57 PM, prepare to refresh
  2. At exactly 12:00:00 AM, refresh the page
  3. Immediately select the target pavilion
  4. Complete the reservation flow without pausing

Three seconds of preparation before midnight removes hesitation. The goal is to be mid-flow by 12:00:01.

3. OTP Input Speed

Most accounts require one-time password (OTP) verification during the reservation process. If OTP entry is slow, the slot fills before you complete the transaction.

Before midnight: open your email and SMS apps, ensure notifications are active, and have the OTP entry field visible and ready. The faster the OTP clears, the better.

Handling Errors

Server Errors Under Load

At midnight, server load spikes sharply as thousands of users attempt access simultaneously. If you encounter an error:

  • Wait a few seconds before retrying — repeated rapid refreshes can worsen the problem
  • Try from a different device
  • If errors persist, step back for 30–60 seconds, then try again

Server errors at midnight are common and expected. Calm, methodical retries outperform panic-clicking.

Session Drops

Sessions occasionally expire mid-flow. If this happens:

  • Re-login immediately from the same device
  • Continue the attempt on backup devices while re-logging in on the primary

Summary

The four techniques that determine success in the 3-day advance reservation window:

  • Multiple devices prepared and logged in before 11:59 PM
  • Precision refresh timing starting at 11:59:57 PM
  • OTP notifications active and immediately accessible
  • Calm error handling — retry methodically, not frantically

The system rewards preparation over speed alone. Visitors who set up properly and execute without hesitation consistently win reservations that others miss.

China-Related Transactions Export-Control Screening Sheet (fill-in / Export Control Law & Dual-Use Regulations, critical minerals, Control List, 2026)

A fill-in working sheet for companies trading with China: screen a single transaction against China's export-control regime (the Export Control Law and the Dual-Use Items Export Control Regulations), the controls on critical minerals (gallium/germanium/graphite/antimony/tungsten etc./rare earths/helium), and the four counterparty-list systems (Control List, Watch List, Unreliable Entity List, countermeasure lists). A procedure for "what to check before the deal," not a roster of "who is listed." With a plain-language intro, based on MOFCOM announcements. Listing is a regulatory category, not a judgment about any company (including the Japanese firms on the Japan-directed lists); controls change continually, so verify current announcements and consult your officer. Match counterparties using the original simplified-Chinese wording.
