An Extraordinary Thinness Achievement
Oppo's claim of "world's thinnest foldable" holds up. Open, the Find N5 measures just 8.93mm thick. Folded, it comes down to 4.21mm — roughly the same thickness as a standard USB Type-C port. At this point, it's physically difficult to go much thinner.
The thinness isn't just a number. Hold it and you notice it immediately — it weighs just 229g, only 2g more than an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Folded, it fits in a pocket with no awkwardness, something few foldables have managed.
Oppo also invested heavily in the hinge. It's barely visible, and when open the display looks seamless. Hinge durability has improved by 70% over previous generations, making long-term use more reliable.
High-Quality Display and Camera
The appeal of the Find N5 goes well beyond its dimensions. The open display measures 8.12 inches with a resolution of 2248×2480 pixels and 412 PPI — a genuinely sharp panel. It supports 120Hz refresh rates for smooth scrolling and animation.
What stands out most is readability. The anti-reflective coating significantly reduces glare, delivering a natural, almost matte look that resembles print on paper rather than a typical glossy screen.
The camera system is a quad-camera setup covering wide to telephoto. The 6x zoom captures fine detail clearly, and portrait shots look natural. Video autofocus is quick, with smooth 4K/60fps recording.
Powered by the Latest Snapdragon 8 Elite
The Find N5 is the first foldable to ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite — a chipset that balances high performance with power efficiency, well-suited to the compact form factor.
Oppo also built in support for "Oppo Connect for Mac," enabling seamless file transfers between the Find N5 and a Mac, as well as remote desktop access from the phone.
Battery capacity is 5,600mAh with 80W Super VOOC fast charging — a full charge in about 50 minutes. Wireless charging supports up to 50W, which is among the fastest available.
Final Thoughts
The Oppo Find N5 shows what foldables can be when thinness is treated as a genuine design constraint rather than an afterthought. It achieves 4.21mm folded without sacrificing display quality, camera capability, or processing power — something that felt impossible not long ago.
The Find N5 delivers everything a foldable needs to do, at a level comparable to dedicated slab phones in both size and weight. How the market receives it will be worth watching. Its arrival will almost certainly push the rest of the foldable category forward.
