Robotics Is Where Jev Belongs: The Decision Layer Between Motion and Planning

Robot control is stacked in layers. Servos run near 1000 Hz, VLA models at 5–50 Hz, task planning below 1 Hz. In between sits a layer that only has to pick the next action, and today we fill it with branching logic or a large language model that is too slow. Jev, a model that writes nothing, is a part built for exactly that slot. Here is what Jev is, how to wire it into a robot, and where safety has to stay separate.

Why Japan Can Come Back in Physical AI: Policy, Numbers, and TIMEWELL's Declaration

Japan was written off as a lap behind in generative AI. So why is physical AI, the AI that acts in the real world, the field where it can come back? This long read starts with the numbers Japan is losing on (IFR statistics), then goes through the AI Basic Plan (Phase II), the AI Robotics Strategy, the Japan Growth Strategy and its investment roadmap, the July-to-September news from NVIDIA, Arm, Hitachi and GENIAC, and the projected shortfall of 11 million workers by 2040. It reads the qualitative shift from tightly coupled to loosely coupled systems and from scale to integration and operations, and ends with TIMEWELL's own declaration that we are moving into physical AI.

What Is a Neocloud? Why CoreWeave and Nebius Are Strong, and What Japan Needs

CoreWeave (United States) and Nebius (Netherlands) are the leading "neoclouds": companies that secure GPUs in bulk and rent them to AI builders. Using their Q2 2026 filings, this piece explains for newcomers what each company does, why NVIDIA rates them highly enough to invest, and where their strength lies. It then checks where Japan stands using METI's list of certified GPU cloud plans, and argues why, in the physical AI era when humanoids and drones become bundles of sensors, an AI foundation with data sovereignty, where you choose where computation happens and where data lives, matters.
