A Look at CES 2024
Today, news sites have been publishing information about the exhibitors at CES 2024, so I put together a quick summary. There seem to be some genuinely interesting entries this year. As always, the startup pavilion looks particularly exciting. There are also keynotes from NVIDIA and others, so definitely worth keeping an eye on. I really wish I could have gone in person.
NVIDIA: Making a strong showing at CES 2024 with a focus on AI and content creation. The company's recent growth has been driven by advances in AI, and that focus is unmistakable throughout the event. The keynote is scheduled for tonight at 1:00 AM (Japan time).
LG: Ahead of CES 2024, LG unveiled a new lineup of OLED TVs featuring an AI processor that significantly enhances picture and audio fidelity. Expect the latest updates on home and mobility products—and of course, AI—at LG's CES event.
Panasonic: Took a unique approach at CES 2024, centering its focus on energy and climate policy. This set it apart from the AI-dominated announcements from other major players.
Honda: Unveils New EV Series at CES 2024
Honda: Unveiled a new EV series at CES 2024. Expectations are also high for more details on "Afeela," the collaborative brand between Honda and Sony first revealed at CES 2023. An announcement could come during CES. A video teaser also references a reveal planned for January 9.
Sennheiser: The audio brand showcased new headphone products at CES 2024, drawing attention in the audio technology space.
Hyundai: Garnered attention with updates on the Supernal eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle). First unveiled at CES 2020, this concept reflects Hyundai's commitment to sustainable and AI-driven mobility solutions. Their EV lineup is also showing impressive performance. Hyundai's keynote is scheduled for January 11.
Samsung: Expected to push AI applications across a range of products, including kitchen appliances and robot vacuums. However, phone-related news will apparently be held for a later event—Galaxy AI is set to be announced late on January 18 (Japan time). Samsung seems to have intentionally avoided making that announcement at CES.
Belkin: Unveils Auto-Tracking Stand for iPhone
Belkin: Announced an auto-tracking stand for iPhone.
Eve Energy: This startup showcased three Matter-powered devices designed to make homes smarter and more energy-efficient.
Smeg: Known for its stylish kitchen appliances, Smeg unveiled a high-performance high-speed blender with multiple automatic programs.
LG AI Agent: LG introduced an AI agent that brings the concept of a robot assistant to life.
Razer Blade 16: Razer announced a new laptop featuring the world's first 16-inch 240Hz OLED display.
Microsoft: Revamped the PC keyboard by replacing the traditional menu key with a new button that launches the Copilot chatbot—a significant UI overhaul.
Qualcomm: The new "XR2 Plus Gen 2" chip supports advanced capabilities like 4.3K resolution at 90fps per eye, signaling a push into high-end VR and AR applications.

Second: Moss Air, an air purifier and humidifier that uses moss. It has excellent design and looks like a genuinely interesting product.
A quick search revealed that it raised $500,000 (approximately 71 million yen) on Kickstarter, the world's largest crowdfunding platform. I personally want one.
