Mobile World Congress ran from March 3 to 6, and Xiaomi's press conference was one of the most product-dense presentations at the event. The company announced its Hyper AI platform, the Xiaomi 15 series flagship phones, a lineup of accessories, and confirmed a global electric vehicle launch. Here's what was announced.
Xiaomi Hyper AI: What It Does
Hyper AI is Xiaomi's unified AI layer built into HyperOS, covering four primary capability areas:
Voice recognition and transcription: Speaker identification, real-time transcription, and automatic summary generation. Designed for meeting capture, notes, and conversational interfaces.
Real-time translation and subtitles: AI-generated subtitles during live speech, supporting multilingual translation. The system can process ambient audio without requiring the user to speak, which makes it useful during foreign-language presentations or international travel.
Image generation and editing: Text prompts generate images; sketches can be converted into finished artwork by selecting a visual style. Existing photos can be edited through natural language — adjustments to specific elements like hair color or clothing are handled by the AI without affecting the rest of the image.
Gallery AI assistant: An in-app creative tool within the photo gallery that provides editing suggestions and automated adjustments across the photo library.

Xiaomi 15 Series Hardware
Xiaomi 15: Compact flagship positioning (191g, industry-leading camera for its size class, equal-width ultra-thin bezels, high-speed charging, and 5G). Color options: green, white, black, and a new liquid silver with a 3D textured finish using thermoforming.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Top-of-line positioning with the company's highest-performance display, professional-grade optics with a new telephoto system, and 10-bit log recording across all four cameras. The camera module is integrated flush with the back panel material — available in silver chrome, white, and black. Second-generation Xiaomi Guardian internal structure with IP68 water and dust resistance.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra's camera system is positioned for video creators: four cameras with consistent 10-bit log support allows post-production color grading across all shooting angles.
Accessory Lineup
- Xiaomi Pad 7 series: Tablet targeting productivity and display quality for everyday use
- Xiaomi Buds 5 Pro: Premium earbuds with active noise cancellation and spatial audio
- Xiaomi Smart Band 9 Pro: Health tracking with an upgraded display and expanded sensor suite
EV Confirmation
Xiaomi confirmed that it will launch an electric vehicle in global markets. In China, the Xiaomi Su7 Ultra generated 15,000 reservations within 24 hours of its domestic launch — an unusually fast commercial validation for a first-time automotive entrant. The global launch represents Xiaomi's move beyond consumer electronics into transportation hardware, following the same cost-efficiency strategy that drove its smartphone growth.
A specific global launch date was not announced at MWC.
Summary
Xiaomi's MWC presentation covered a wide product surface:
- Hyper AI: voice, translation, image generation, and photo editing in one platform
- Xiaomi 15: compact flagship with ultra-thin bezels and liquid silver finish
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra: professional camera, 10-bit log video across four lenses
- Xiaomi Pad 7, Buds 5 Pro, Smart Band 9 Pro: full ecosystem accessories
- EV: global market entry confirmed, China launch already validated with 15,000 first-day reservations
For a company still primarily known in Western markets as a budget alternative, the 15 Ultra and EV announcement represent a deliberate positioning toward premium markets internationally.
