Hello, I'm Hamamoto from TIMEWELL.
Samsung's latest device lineup covers three product categories simultaneously: foldable phones with the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, an entry-level foldable with the Z Flip 7 FE, and an updated wearable line with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. All ship with Android 16 and One UI 8 — Samsung's first lineup to launch with Google's newest OS from day one.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Redesigned for Slimness and Performance
The Z Fold 7's most visible change is its hinge. The component has been miniaturized and the wing plate structure redesigned, producing a slimmer device profile with a more fluid fold. The new shape gives the open device a cleaner silhouette while maintaining the durability the hinge needs to handle thousands of open-close cycles.
The main display uses a multi-layer construction that reduces weight in some layers while reinforcing others with new adhesives and titanium elements — balancing display stability against physical bulk.
Performance
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy delivers:
- 38% CPU performance improvement
- 41% NPU (AI processor) improvement
- 26% GPU improvement
For business users, this means smoother multitasking across multiple browser tabs and documents, faster image processing, and more responsive AI features.
Camera System
- 200MP wide-angle main camera with a 44% larger image sensor
- Ultrawide with autofocus — enabling macro shooting with no loss of detail at close range
- 10-bit HDR video enabled by default
- Photo Assist AI tool for automatic object removal and background fill
- Audio Eraser for identifying and removing up to 6 audio categories in video
The front-facing camera combines with the large main display to cover 100 degrees of field — useful for group selfies and video calls.
Gemini Live Integration
One UI 8 includes Gemini Live, which gives the camera and screen real-time analytical capability. Use cases demonstrated include scanning refrigerator contents for meal suggestions and capturing event posters to automatically add calendar entries. These features run through the Gemini API and require a connection, but the integration is native rather than app-based.

Galaxy Z Flip 7: Compact Form, Expanded Functionality
The Z Flip 7 opens to a 6.9-inch display at a 21:9 aspect ratio — a full-height vertical display in a device that folds to pocket size. The new Armor Flex Hinge reduces stress on the mechanism and improves impact resistance.
The cover screen (Flex Window) is now 4.1-inch with 120Hz refresh rate and 68% reduced bezels compared to the previous model. One UI 8 enables automatic layout generation for the cover screen: it identifies the best photo from the camera roll, separates subject from background, and arranges clock widgets and other information automatically.
The Now Bar provides context-aware app shortcuts — calendar, playlists, timers — without unlocking the device.
Camera: 50MP main with accurate color reproduction, plus Instant Slow-mo for smoother slow-motion capture.
Battery: Expanded capacity with up to 8 hours of continuous video playback. For full-day business use including calls and screen-on tasks, the battery handles a typical workday.
Z Flip 7 FE
The Flip 7 FE enters at a lower price point while retaining:
- 50MP camera
- Galaxy AI features
- Professional visual engine
It's designed for users who want the foldable form factor without paying flagship prices.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series: Health Sensors and AI Coaching
The Watch 8 series introduces several capabilities that go beyond what previous Galaxy Watch models offered.
New Health Features
Running coach: Assesses individual fitness level in 12 minutes, then auto-generates one of 10 training programs with real-time form and pace coaching during workouts.
Sleep tracking: Records sleep stages, total duration, blood oxygen levels, and snoring detection.
Vascular load measurement: Analyzes blood volume and arterial stiffness to quantify stress on blood vessels — providing data relevant to cardiovascular health management.
Antioxidant sensor: Places a finger on the sensor while wearing the watch to measure skin antioxidant levels in real time. This indicates oxidative stress and broader nutritional status.
Hardware
- 3nm processor
- Dual-frequency GPS
- Peak brightness of 3,000 nits (readable in direct sunlight)
- Gemini integration for watch-native queries (nearest cafe, message composition)
Model Variants
Galaxy Watch 8 Classic includes a rotating bezel for a traditional interaction model.
Galaxy Watch Ultra adds 64GB storage and enhanced durability for outdoor and high-intensity use cases.
Security across the Watch 8 series uses strong encryption to prevent third-party access to health data.
Summary
The three product categories Samsung released this cycle each address a different user profile:
| Device | Core appeal |
|---|---|
| Z Fold 7 | Large-screen productivity with foldable portability |
| Z Flip 7 / FE | Compact design, full functionality, multiple price points |
| Watch 8 series | Health monitoring with AI coaching and Gemini integration |
The common thread is the Android 16 / One UI 8 platform, which provides consistent Gemini-based AI features across all devices from launch.
